KN/GHTS is the electrifying project of James Knights, renowned for his work with Scarlet Soho and as one half of the cult synth duo Boytronic. Combining heavy HI-NRG, raw electro, and a versatile vocal range, Knights crafts a sound that is dynamic, intense, and unforgettable.
After years of relentless touring, KN/GHTS returns with an album exploring obsession, loss, transformation, and flashes of Hammer Horror–style dark humour. Supernatural Lover captures a turbulent and creatively charged period through raw, urgent tracks, and includes a striking reimagining of Yazoo’s “Goodbye 70’s.”
Knightmares aka poppy disco New Wave with a clear 80’s touch. The song sounds like a forgotten gem from back then. Pure gold with the perfect tempo and fits the dancefloor! Check the synths, the guitar play and the electronic drums!
Supernatural Lover sounds great and dives deeper into the disco Wave genre: aiming once again fort he dancefloor! I think If Technomancer is thinking about a new album something like this might sound great (just a hint). Or maybe a Technomancer mix might do it next time.
Bite The Night : is a great start of a party/night. This song should have been the first song on this album!
Light The Fuse sounds very sensual (and that goes well with the title). Be ready to sing-a-long! I love the sweet sounding backings!
Goodbye Seventies make a bit of fun with the 70’s and the karate song from the end of the 70’s. You gotta be at least as old as me to know this particular song. I feel this one would have been good as last song (of this album/concert) and get out with a big bang!
I Die For This Love sounds a bit like Boy George singing a very fragile sounding track, with a great tempo and hell yeah: that typical electronic drums. I looove it!
D.G.D. sounds a bit softer and reminds me slightly of the Crocket theme, but with vocals and gets halfway a higher tempo. Somehow the female voice gives it a cyber punk/futuristic touch. This is the “darkest” song on the album.
Can’t Cry Any Longer is a piano minded ballad (with some sweet backings). Normally you get out with a bang, well here you get out with a tear or maybe even a little slow dance. Feel the positive vibes, the tap on the shoulder, the hug, the warmth …
Two new remixes bring fresh interpretations of the title track:
Supernatural Lover (Steel Horse Remix)
Bristol’s Steel Horse (f.k.a. Señor Chugger) brings high-octane, tongue-in-cheek disco and house energy perfect for late nights and grinning dance floors.
Supernatural Lover (Werner Karloff Remix)
Mexico City’s Werner Karloff crafts a retro-futurist analog piece blending minimal synth, post-punk, and industrial influences.
Conclusions: fans of retro music (disco/New Wave) / Yazoo & Boy George will be delighted! I enjoyed it and was even dancing a bit every now and then! This album has to become a hit as I clearly hear enough potential for it! The timing for gifts is perfect, so why not give this one to a loved one (with a wink to the album title)! Satisfaction guaranteed!
