De Affiche van Rock Werchter 2016 begint stillaan vorm te krijgen. Maar nu voegt de organisatie daar een toch wel heel interessant concept aan toe. De Rock Opera Gutterdämmerung zal op 30 juni neerstrijken op de festivalweide van Rock Werchter.

"The loudest silent movie on earth. A rock opera for the 21st century. 'Gutterdämmerung' is a silent movie with an iconic cast, accompanied by a raucous live soundtrack and firework explosions. Iggy Pop, Lemmy, Slash, Henry Rollins, Joshua Homme, Grace Jones and other motherfucking bastards star in a frenzied cinema show from the Belgian-Swedish director Bjorn Tagemose.
Gutterdämmerung’ is a rock show presentation, for a standing audience. At Rock Werchter on Thursday 30 June. The film’s accompanying music is played by a band led by guitarist Kevin Armstrong (David Bowie, Morrissey, Iggy Pop). The set includes rock anthems (Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, The Stooges…) sung by Jesse Smith, a young Brit with a voice like Robert Plant’s. Henry Rollins will also be present at Werchter, as the narrator. Gutterdämmerung comes straight from the Gutter and is fabulously grotesque. Catch it at Rock Werchter 2016 on Thursday 30 June! #RW16"
