Berlin duo AD:KEY closed 2020 in beauty with the release of a new 7-track EP taken from their successful “Resonanz” album. They picked the hot Body-Pop track “I Can’t Feel You” to make us sweat and dance to this impossible-love-song between man and machine. A song that nicely blends EBM basslines with minimal catchy synth pop melodies, hammering beats, cold powerful female vocals and nice vocoder fx.
I Can`t Feel You (single edit) is indeed a catchy and a simple but very effective dance track. It works. Can You Hear Me is an exclusive non album track. The song sounds like old school EBM. Yup fans of EBM are clearly having their fun with this one! Up next are the remixes: I Can`t Feel You (remix by Zweite Jugend). Here I get a sense of D.A.F. Next is the remix called Rebirth: a more space tripping kinda version. The Rebirth remix gets more whispering and a bit more bleeps and bits. The Citric Acid remix aka Letal 30 is a bit too much of a floating deep space SF thingie for me, give me the original plz. Can You Hear Me (reconstructed) keeps the EBM going and ads a bit of industrial slacks. Last one goes to I Can`t Feel You (deeper) starts almost acapella and slowly fades out.
The originals are good, I liked it, despite not being an EBM fan anymore. I’m sure they have their fanbase and will reach out more with the main track!
