Dear music friends and fans,
if the year 2020 has taught us one thing, then that everything will turn out differently than you think — and also differently than originally planned. Thanks to Corona, many of our initial intentions and plans for this year have been completely thrown overboard, from the postponed autumn tour to the announcement and completion of our upcoming tenth studio album which was actually planned already for spring.
Now the time has finally come. We finally have all the puzzle pieces together and we can finally share the good news with you all:
On Friday, April 16th 2021, our most elaborate studio album to date will be released, called “Dual”, supported by Initiative Musik gGmbH with project funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media.
Most elaborate? But why, you may ask yourselves?
Because it was the first time, we dared to do a double concept album. Because for the very first time we have recorded an album with ten songs that have inspired, touched, shaped the both of us, or just individually. We met all of these pieces with the utmost respect and tried to rearrange the original compositions in typical Deine Lakaien sound-spheres.
The major feature, however, is that the other album contains ten completely new original Deine Lakaien compositions, which in turn refer to one of the songs we covered: Regardless of whether lyrically, musically, mood-wise or content-wise. This was an immensely exciting challenge for us and we are very thoroughly happy that TODAY “Because The Night”, the first single from the upcoming studio double album, was released, for which there also is a special lyric video which will be premiered at 6pm CET on our official YouTube channel.

The double album will be available as a Double CD version in a Mediabook, as a Double LP version in a neat gatefold cover, as a limited Hardcover Art Book with bonus CD and also as a strictly limited to 999 copies worldwide Complete Box Set, which includes all sorts of exclusive accessories that will only be available in this box. Of course, “Dual” will also be available as download from April 16th, 2021 on and via all streaming portals.
