Boum Patat launches with "Ma Belgitude" — a bold, genre-defying debut that kicks off a deeply personal yet wildly original artistic journey. Inspired by life in Belgium and shaped by contradictions, the album blends metal power, electronic energy, and absurdist humor into a sound the artist calls Electro-Fun-Metal. Created entirely in his own studio by a one-man force of production, drums, and chaos , Boum Patat fuses industrial, heavy, and groove metal with playful, second-degree storytelling. Think Rammstein meets Machine Head, but instead of demons and blood, it’s about the existential rage of mosquito bites. Formerly the drummer for Belgian metal act Manic Movement , he brings a strong sense of structure and live impact — wrapped in a cyberpunk visual aesthetic that gleefully breaks metal’s traditional codes.
About:
BOUM PATAT is the new electro fun metal project by Belgian musician Olivier Wittenberg, former drummer-composer of Manic Movement. In the 2000s, he toured Europe with bands like Kreator, Moonspell, and Psychotic Waltz, and played major festivals such as Graspop Metal Meeting.
After a long break, he returns with Ma Belgitude, a self-produced solo debut that blends heavy metal, Belgian humor, and old-school electronic sounds. BOUM PATAT breaks metal’s usual codes—serious and absurd at once, mixing groove, industrial, and electronic punch with offbeat themes and playful visuals.
Live, the project becomes a trio with Laurent Soulasse (bass) and Maxime Demulder (drums).
This is just the beginning. Future releases will explore new directions, but the core remains: intensity, contrast, and fun.

Boum Patat is the first track, has been launched with a clip and is according to me simply the best track on the album and should be there anthem! It's a cool and funny electro metal track sung in French and revisiting the guy's life in a harsh and cruel way. I'm sure some DJ's might even play this track! Don't forget to check the clip!

Putain De Moustique: yes where is thus f** mosquito that buzzes around your head at night and wants to suck your blood! Impossible to get it and kill it! Yup: a very known story. Imagine Rammstein singing about this one, well: here you get it!
Rue D'aerschot aka prostitution street: is the track with the lowest tempo so far and focusses on the story telling, reigned by the guitar play. It's not the prettiest story, rather the sadest.
Electro Frustration: is about electronic devices who let you down. Mobile who doesn't want to charge, a PC giving you troubles etc. You can feel the frustrations with the music. I start to think: how come Fleddy Melculy hasn't yet wrote a song about this? Two legens might meet each other here! Take note of some funny passages, i wont reveal it, but you'll hear it (if you understand French).
Manneken Pis: this little guy is one of the best known statues in Brussels. Rammstein minded and mixing French and Flemish creating a very catchy track! Not sure if Trump has a bigger dick then this one (according to South Park), but at least this little guy took down a fire with his tiny weener.
Booster is a cool rocker with roaring guitars and vocals on fire, all boosted up (as the title says)! You have to see the booster effect in a wide range of possibilities (drugs, sickness, muscles, ...).
Mediageil starts with an old tune from a TV program (RTBF) and exposes people who wants to be in the spotlights and do everything to be in them and to keep the spots on them! It's a modern thing and sadly other things get lost beacause of that. It's a very serious thing!
James Brown Is Dead (satire on L.A. Style): mixing French and Flemisch, talking about party time, the song and his own life at that moment. The sound mixes a bit the original sound with metal and electro!
Je Suis Zat or what happens when Rammstein gets drunk and writes a song about it. The lyrics are funny but also tell the truth: without alcohol most of the heavy drinkers are nothing (and it's a total disaster when they are drunk): missing the beauty of life. Wat zullen we drinken 7 dagen lang: is a song that must have inspired Boum Patat to write this one and ma version of it's own: calling up all the cool drinks (and on top smoking a sigar) and letting it all go together with the friends. Sorrow always comes too late! This one has to become a new single with a clip!

Mort Subit is a strong Belgian Beer, but also means what it means: a sudden death. The question here has been inspired by the phrase: a slow death or a sudden death. Neil Young (remember Kurt Cobains DEATH NOTE) already dropped a similar question. The answer is to live here and now, no regrets!

Well: i's fun, but also very serious! I love the mix between Flemish and French, just as the lyrics: this is Belgium and it come from the heart! Belgium can be proud to have a band like this and now: book them for Graspop or Alcatraz please!
