Frankly I announced earlier on that I would call it a day on 31/12/2024, but I noticed I already reviewed a few albums that will be released in 2025 and on top I reached an agreement with a festival for 2025. That made me conclude: I will finish what I started and agreed on. But I’m really getting fed up with the crazy behaviour of Facebook. Keyboard warriors have apparently the last word on Facebook. On top: Facebook tells you to post in different groups to get a higher reach, but punishes you randomly for posting a lot or tells you are punished for trying to get a higher reach. Now tell me: what’s the purpose of a website that publishes reviews, interviews, launches al kind of news items … Get a high reach, right? So that people notice the new stuff, read the articles … It’s working on my system and I hate it! I’m still waiting for the next big thing that will overgrow Facebook. It’s more and more time consuming, whilst my work at the hospital is getting heavier and heavier and on top I will have to learn something completely new in 2025 (and yes: I’m 51 and it’s getting harder to learn new stuff whilst having to deal with understaffing). I also love to cycle and recently joined a club, made the first baby step to get ready for real races, so who knows and I also started a secret project (but I know it’s not easy at all, trying to safe stuff I did when I was a teenager and was dreaming about something).
Now: I already posted in the Flemish section that 2024 was the year of Pommelien Thijs, but as this is the English section I will talk about other artists!
If one thing is clear then it’s that Front 242 is still very popular. They will end their live career in 2025 but are on stage still on fire and sharp as a knife: they are my Belgian EBM heroes. Every article about them got a lot of people reading it and their gigs are like all(most) sold-out! We can be very proud about them.
Other bands that still reach out to a lot of people are Blutengel (and everything where ChrisPohl appears in), Feuerschwanz (their live gigs are a heavy metal Walhalla feast) and Nick Cave (he’s a living institute of dark music), Lord Of The Lost (great gigs, superb messages in the songs and a top performer), Je T’aime (looking forward to their new album: out in 2025, review is ready), Evig Natt (finally a new album preset for 2025).
The album was suddenly there and people loved it, because it’s a great album and apparently there are 2 other albums programmed (but yet to be finalized)!

Krieg-B got me hooked to their sound with their new album, Corlyx keeps on working towards the sky (looking forward to see them on stage and review of their 2025 double album is in draft modus) just as the new Nick Cave, Body Count (hope to see them on stage), Thundermother (new stuff is almost as good as their best album ever, eg. the previous album: review is ready), Daemon Grey (keeps on working hard, just sad I couldn’t meet him when I was in Canada, in his hometown on top), Burning Witches (what a power-trip), Liv Kristine (new album for 2025), Blues Pills (great gig, great album & still hoping for an interview), Ultra Sunn (one of the best Belgian export products), Dog Eat Dog (their album should have been a mega selling out album), C-Lekktor (20 years is a lot, but hoping for 30 years on top), LØLØ (gosh: I want her album after I got all her single’s), Pain (saw them at Graspop and adored the new album), Luka (most underrated Belgian artist, great album, ex-Hooverphonic), The Dirty Denims (what a power and a great leading lady).
Len Lemeire (Implant, Crash 32, Anne Clark) produces great music and what he does with other bands and artists is like creating magic! He deserves a special line in this article! Keep up the great work!
