Belgian hard rock formation The Last Shrine just signed a record deal and will fly under the wings of GIO SMET RECORDS. Together with the label, the band has big and exciting plans for the future and will certainly be a band to keep a close eye on!

Comments by the band:

“We’re happy to announce our agreement with Gio Smet Records for handling our bookings moving forward. After a straightforward meeting with Gio, where we discussed the possibilities of collaboration, we decided to give it a shot and signed the contract.

One of the things we appreciate is that we still have the flexibility to manage some aspects of the band’s administration. There’s also the option to expand the services whenever needed.

For now, we’re hoping to secure some gigs and showing everyone our musical passion. We’ve also got some new material in the works, as a follow-up to our first album. Stay tuned on our social media and Gio Smet Records’ channels for updates!”

Comments by the label:

“As you all know, at Gio Smet Records, we only go for quality artists and bands. The Last Shrine is yet another example of that! We knew Juan Carlos from past music projects and we are 100% behind them. We are excited to start this journey together!"

Band biography:

The story of "The Last Shrine" dates back to 2002 when Juan Carlos Galdos started a solo project called "The Shrine of Qantu," where the foundation of some songs originated. In 2020, during the pandemic, some ideas from "The Shrine of Qantu" were revisited and combined with songs from other projects like "Replikka" and "Devil's Bargain." What began as a tribute to those lost during the pandemic eventually evolved into a band that experienced constant lineup changes in its early days. Initially featuring Fabiano Canani on drums and JC Galdos on guitar, the band began collaborating with Peter Van Acker, Nancy De Stobbeleere, and Italo Oneto. After some time, Fabiano Canani left the band, and Rafa Porcal took his place.

Now, with a stable lineup, "The Last Shrine" aims to be the last bastion of true hard rock from the golden decades and seeks followers to join them in this tribute to great rock music.
