EVIG NATT’s music is aggressive but subtle, noisy yet beautiful, a maelstrom of symphonic darkness that could only be described as Orchestral Gothic Doom Metal. From the unholy metal grounds of Karmøy, west Norway, this band follows in the footsteps of Einherjer and Enslaved, featuring ex-band members of both. I bought heir previous 3 albums, reviewed the last one, saw them on stage, interviewed them and met them: all is worth it! Give them a little push and make it possible to tour all over Europe! Can't wait to get the full album!
The track ”Når Lyset Svikte” translates to “When the light fails”. It’s about giving up, when your tired of keeping yourself afloat, and you give in and sink into the darkness. The song is performed in our Norwegian dialect, which is specific to the island of Karmøy, where Evig Natt originates from. Kirsten always feels closest and more connected to her Norwegian lyrics, as they tend to be a lot more direct and personal.
The new song mixes the best from this band: the dreamy and yest powerful vocals done by Kirsten and the amazing grunts by Stein. The melancholic and meldoic part is crafted like a master! The piano part is a great thing and let's hope the new drummer gets all worked in and makes sure they can get on stage outside of Norway! The video is also really amazing and looks very professional!
