With The Awakening, KAMELOT deliver their most comprehensive and diverse work to date, which entered the German album charts at #9. On this album, they mix symphonic, melodic, progressive and power metal elements and have also created some of the heaviest tracks in the band's history. With their distinctive works such as The Fourth Legacy (1999), The Black Halo (2005), Silverthorn (2012), Haven (2015, #24 in the German album charts) and also with 2018's The Shadow Theory, which reached #13 in the German album charts, they made a name for themselves internationally. On The Awakening, KAMELOT's intense blend of modern and symphonic theatrics is presented stronger and more emotional than ever before.
Featuring the impressive vocals of Tommy Karevik, and backed by the impressive teamwork of renowned guitarist Thomas Youngblood with drummer Alex Landenburg, keyboardist Oliver Palotai and bassist Sean Tibbetts, KAMELOT's score-like 13th studio album is complemented by guest contributions from artists such as Melissa Bonny (Ad Infinitum) and renowned instrumentalists such as violinist Florian Janoske and cellist Tina Guo. The Awakening is also characterized by the detailed and modern production, which was supervised by the band and long-time producer Sascha Paeth, and by the excellent mixing and mastering by Jacob Hansen at the famous Hansen Studios.
