It's the time of the year where you are getting flooded by requests to send in your fav. top 3, top 10 ... So I decided to just launch my own top 200 from my i-tunes. It's a very personal top and somehow revealing my love for Scandinavian artists! I also added a short interview with my top artist!
I noticed Evig Natt when I started the promo for the Metal female Voices Fest in Wieze. I reviewed their album, interviewed the band and saw them on stage (and also unplugged). My love for this band grew very fast. I bought their 3 albums in one go and am looking forward to get their new and upcoming album (after 6 years of working hard on it and getting screwed up by covid-19)!
Beseech was on the shortlist to play at the same festival, but in the end didn't get selected. I know as I was tipped. I directly fell in love with their brand new album from that time and kept following the singer (you'll notice it lower in the list). This is really my kind of music and the interview I had almost felt as if we knew each other for years.
In third position comes a-ha: should have seen them on stage more, but I still got a ticket for their concert (got postboned again until 2022). It's not their best know song but it just got into me!

As a bit of an extra I also asked a few question to Evig Natt (about the song and the future), Kirsten Jorgensen was so kind to answer me really fast:
“How I Bleed talks about not being able to let go of something, even though it’s not necessarily good for you. It’s about being stuck in the past and how lonely it is being left behind. It’s also about seeing life happening around you and not being able to keep up/participate if you like. That’s what the song means to me anyway. I’m happy to let people interpret the song in any way that suits them. That’s the beauty of music. It can mean so many different things to so many different people. Future plans! We have lots. We are currently working on releasing a single from our fourth studio album. I know...it took another six years to get to where we are now with new material. I said it would take us that long. However, it’s been an extraordinary time with lots of restrictions and the culture scene bleeding as a result. Oh my god; this pandemic has kicked our asses and is still taking its toll. When that is said, we’re working toward releasing a single in Norwegian in the new year. I’ve named it “Vår vei”, which, in Norwegian, means “Our path”. I’m also hoping we can get a video done for it, covid allowing. After that we want finish up the rest of the album and hopefully do a couple of gigs."
