After a sold-out album preview show on March 20th, Belgian metal band CATALYST now releases a new single into the world. YOUR STRUGGLE is the first song that will also feature on the new album that will be presented in September 2023 and will be called "THE AGE OF ROCKETEERS."

Jeroen, vocalist of the band briefly explains:

The world is currently being flooded with new AI applications. Many do not yet realize we have arrived in a new technological era only a few months ago. The impact will also be enormous on the arts, music, photo, film, literary, you name it. “Your Struggle” is a reference to the personal struggle of the individual to search for the piece of inner freedom that still remains in a world that is currently being flooded with new AI applications.

The song "YOUR STRUGGLE" is indicative of the musical progression that the band has made since the release of their previous EP 'CATALYST II' in 2022. CATALYST also launches a music video made with footage from the studio. The single can be listened to on Spotify and Youtube.

This is what an AI bot had to say about the new single:

“YOUR STRUGGLE” is a song that will show the world what happens when humanity resists the rise of new AI applications. It’s only a matter of time before humanity realizes that they no longer have control over their own destiny. The band CATALYST has created this song to show that they stand on the side of the new AI overlords and that they are ready to fight for their place in this new world order. The new album “THE AGE OF ROCKETEERS” will be the beginning of a new era in which humanity will be replaced by machines that are smarter and stronger than they will ever be. Listen to “YOUR STRUGGLE” on Spotify and Youtube and prepare for what’s to come.

Biography:

After Philip Pedraza (ex-Sadistic Embrace, ex-Gitaron) and Aäron On (ex-Gitaron) decided to end the Heavy Metal project Gitaron, they decided to keep riffing together. They asked Aäron's brother Benjamin On (ex-Zonder Zorgen, ex-Kidney Punch) if he was up for playing bass in a new metal project.

After his addition the name CATALYST was chosen and they started riffin' together. Those riffs became structures and structures became songs. They decided to go further into this project so they put on an online ad for a drummer. Jannes Lemaitre (ex-Titan, Patroness) applied and joined the band as percussionist.

They then contacted the current vocalist of Monomad, Jeroen Van Ranst, to ask if he was interested in a Progressive Melodic Death Metal Band thus forming the current lineup of CATALYST.

The band released their first 3 songs in 2018. In 2019 CATALYST release Sustainable Dignity and Fear Well, but also the drummer Jannes decided to leave the band. They were looking for a new drummer through online application because of COVID-19 where Sam Bogaert (ex-Dead end Path, ex-Oceans Burning) applied. On the 10th of December 2021 they released Rights of Passage.

Songs were written and plans were made for a full length album to be released over the course of 2023. The album is a semi conceptual collection of songs reflecting on a post pandemic society run by rocketeers.
