The current climate crisis is a massive threat to all life and human community. It is bringing some of us together, but many industry and political leaders see it as an opportunity to polarize and extract more wealth. That is why policy change and enforcement move ahead so slowly. Too many conflicts of interest at the top. Our response as a society should be adequate and aim where it may actually make a difference.

We’ve heard weak leaders request that our youths stop direct action in favour of constructive compliance. But putting our trust in the leadership echelons has proven totally useless, the past 40 years. Our protests will always remain ignored if they do not become more inconvenient for the money machine.

• Disrupt politics by supporting civilian initiatives like citizen’s parties. This means voting for community and solidarity, not for parties that promote polarization or blame culture. Call out politicians on their corruptions. Make and hold them accountable. #throwmorepies
   
• Deconsume: today, civil disobedience has become consumer disobedience. Disrupting power is most easily achieved by going against the commercial grain.: buy less, buy quality, buy local, buy cruelty-free, buy fair trade, … #deconsume
   
• Keep hitting the streets: peacefully inconveniencing the flow of affairs is a powerful weapon. From climate actions to labour strikes, we need to operate as one. Because all these struggles are connected to the same origin: the lack of accountability by leaders to their citizen or consumer base. #hitthestreets
