City and Colour, de artiestennaam van de Canadese singer-songwriter Dallas Green, komt op 14 februari 2016 naar Nederland voor een eenmalig concert in Paradiso, Amsterdam. Deze show is onderdeel van een uitgebreide Europese tour naar aanleiding van zijn vijfde studioalbum 'If I Should Go Before You' dat op 9 oktober verschijnt (via Dine Alone/Caroline). De kaartverkoop start op vrijdag 31 juli. Kaarten zijn te bestellen via de website van Paradiso.
Terwijl Dallas Green dan nog volop actief is als zanger en gitarist in de succesvolle post-hardcore band Alexisonfire, richt hij in 2004 zijn solo-project City and Colour op, refererend naar zijn voornaam (Dallas) en achternaam (Green).
In 2005 debuteert City and Colour met 'Sometimes' gevolgd door 'Bring Me Your Love' (2008), 'Little Hell' (2011) en 'Hurry and the Harm' (2013). Zijn solocarrière blijkt een schot in de roos te zijn. Zowel in de charts als ´on the road´ oogst Dallas Green namelijk veel succes. Hij speelt wereldwijd in uitverkochte zalen en zijn albums krijgen de status platina en goud.
Zeven keer wordt City and Colour genomineerd voor de belangrijkste Canadese muziekprijs JUNO Awards. Hij valt in de prijzen in de categorieën ´Alternative Album of the Year´ en ´Songwriter of the Year´.

Met ´If I Should Go Before You´ is City and Colour alweer toe aan zijn vijfde album. Anders dan voorheen, heeft Dallas Green nu gekozen voor het opnemen van nieuw materiaal met zijn vaste live band, die bestaat uit Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs, Dead Weather) op bas, Dante Schwebel (Spanish Gold, Dan Auerbach) op gitaar, Doug MacGregor (Constantines) op drums en Matt Kelly op pedal steel gitaar en toetsen.
Dallas Green zegt er het volgende over: “They inspired me to want to create new music, just to create it with them—I don’t think I wrote these songs for the band, per se, but I certainly wrote them because of the band. Anybody who has seen us play will understand that this is the best representation of what we do live that we have ever recorded. I was so excited about being able to make and record an album with these guys that it just flowed. I felt so confident about their abilities to make all of my ideas come true.”
Voorafgaand aan de opnames van ´If I Should Go Before You´, ging Dallas Green eerst nog de samenwerking aan met de internationale superster Alecia Moore (P!nk). Samen vormen ze het duo you+me en brachten het album 'rose ave.' uit, dat op nummer 4 in de Amerikaanse Top 200 Charts binnen kwam, op nummer 1 in Canada, nummer 2 in Australië en nummer 6 in Duitsland.
