Het is al een tijdje stil rond artiesten als Tom McRae en Buurman. We kregen vandaag het goede nieuws dat beide artiesten nieuw werk op de markt brengen. Buurman stelt zijn nieuwste schijf Dans & Dwaal voor. Tom McRae brengt zijn 8ste album op de markt. ‘Ah, The World! Oh, The World!’
Buurman bracht sinds 2008 drie albums uit: Rocky Komt Altijd Terug', 'Mount Everest', 'De Kus In Ruil Voor Een Koninkrijk'. Buurman scoorde radiohits met 'London Stansted', 'God, Ik en Marjon', 'Zoals Koffie Hoort Bij Opstaan' U kunt Buurman binnenkort live zien in Ancienne Belgique. Dit op 19 oktober in AB-Klub. Na zijn heel succesvolle plaat 'Did I Sleep and Miss The Border' laat Tom McRae ook in 2017 weer van zich horen. Tom McRae haalt zijn inspiratie uit o.a. Trump en de Brexit. We citeren wat Tom hier zelf over te zeggen heeft:
“After Brexit and Trump I wanted to run away, to get some perspective and to avoid the continual bad news”, says McRae. “Britain has had a nervous breakdown and I felt the same. I had no idea how to respond as an artist, in a world on fire do you pour water or petrol? It turns out that my natural response was to write intimate, personal songs to share my despair. So no change there! I don’t think protest songs work any more, if they ever did, but anything that evokes an emotional response has to have some small effect. If only on an individual. So that’s what I did, I wrote songs to make myself feel better. I suppose that’s what I’ve always done.”
