Op 14, 15 en 16 oktober zal het festival Desertfest doorgaan in TRIX, Antwerpen. Op een paar weken voor de start van het festival, kregen we minder goed nieuws te verwerken. Graveyard hebben hun aantreden op Desertfest gecanceld, meer nog ze houden ermee op. We citeren het nieuwsbericht op de facebookpagina van Desertfest:
Hello all,
We are truly gutted and saddened to announce that Graveyard has just canceled their appearance at Desertfest Antwerp. The band has split up, and therefore dropped their entire fall tour including the show at our festival.
We can only imagine your disappointment, but rest assured this news comes as a complete surprise to us as well, and it puts us in a very difficult position. It will be very hard for us to find a worthy replacement so close to the festival date, but at the moment we're trying our very damn best to come up with a suitable solution. It will take us a couple of days, so we hope you all are willing to give us the time and room while we figure this out.
In the meantime, we've decided to offer a refund for all of you who bought a Saturday day ticket specifically for Graveyard. If you want to reclaim the ticket price, please send us a mail at contact@desertfest.be with your payment details and ticket number. This offer is valid until a week from now, it expires Friday Sept 30 at 12pm.
Het officiële statement van de band luid als volgt:
"Dark clouds above the graveyard today.
Due to the all so classic reason "differences within the band" the Graveyard is as of today officially closed. This is the unfortunate final decision we've had to make after going through a period of struggling n juggling with personal issues. Things have gone out of hand and now our energy is very low. As a direct result of this we're sorry to say that all scheduled touring is cancelled.
Graveyard have always been more about the music than the talking and that is the way we intend to deal with this situation also. What we can say is that we don't know if and when the Graveyard will return in full force.
