Eerst het goede nieuws, Dunk!festival zal in principe doorgaan in 2014. Op 18, 19 en 20 april en alles zal wederom plaats hebben op een podium. 2013 was echter een financiele kater geworden door allerlei omstandigheden. Toch wil de organisatie doorgaan met het festival en ze vragen hiervoor de hulp van vele fans en liefhebbers van het festival. Hierover meer in de komende weken.
Het volgende was er te lezen in de gezonden nieuwsbrief :
We can't imagine a year passing by without an edition of dunk!festival. And certainly not if it happens to be the 10th edition. But the facts are that we are 10.000β¬ short to pay for dunk!festival2013. This is not because we had a second stage and more bands. There were simply less visitors then we expected for several reasons: too early in the year, too cold, no hotels available, maybe too expensive for the line up we managed to make, new concept... So dunk!festival2014 will be in Easter weekend again (April 18-19-20), tickets will be a little cheaper, and the line up will be insane. We're also going to put everyone on one stage again to increase the value of one single show.
It's all about quality, not quantity. Like our fans :-).
BUT!we need your help to make it happen in 2014 more than ever. We are not going to bother you with our -10.000β¬ problem but we really can't afford another edition without some financial certainties. So before we start confirming awesome bands (already talking to some of them) we need to be sure we will be able to pay them. Therefore we are going to set up a crowd funding campaign. The amount we can collect through this project will influence the line-up for 2014 directly. Our plan is to ask as much headliners and highlights of the previous editions as possible with the support we get from you.
So we are not going to use your money to fix our financial problem. We are going to use it to make the 10th edition something even more unforgettable. We hoped we would've been able to do this without even more financial support from you...The project is being fine tuned right now and we hope to launch it next week.
