Mentissa and Jasper Steverlinck, two of Belgium's finest contemporary vocalists, offer us a pop reworking of the 80s classic by Frankie goes to Hollywood, The Power Of Love. Produced by Romain Descampe and Egil 'Ziggy' Franzen from Puggy, and mixed by Steve Sedgwick (Gorillaz, Damon Albarn, Rex Orange County), the track has been chosen to illustrate the new Belfius TV campaign.
Covering a classic track is always a dangerous thing, except if you are Jasper Steverlinck. He found a great sparring partner with the beautiful Mentissa. This version gets a bit of a reggea tone, lesser violins but yet still some. The tempo is also a bit higher, just as the vocal chords that this duo walks on and yet they kept a slice of the original fragility and the epic feel.
