Comments by Horrorwish:

"It was clear right away that this song had to be the first single for the upcoming album. I believe the song reflects the matter of the true story of John Wayne Gacy really well. It’s a captivating song with low, fat and deep tunes. Also, the lyrics, written together with Linda Roosens (www.lindaroosensart.be), are not for the faint hearted, as they really are brutally honest in telling the horror story. That’s also a fact for all the songs on the album. I am proud of the result and also of the lyric video, which goes together with the song very well."

Some insight on the story of ‘John Wayne Gacy’:

John Wayne Gacy (March 17, 1942 – May 10, 1994) was an American serial killer and sex offender who raped, tortured, and murdered at least 33 young men and boys in Norwood Park Township, near Chicago, Illinois. He became known as the Killer Clown due to his public performances as a clown prior to the discovery of his crimes. Gacy committed all of his murders in his ranch-style house. Typically, he would lure a victim to his home and dupe them into donning handcuffs on the pretext of demonstrating a “magic trick”. He would then rape and torture his captive before killing them by either asphyxiation or strangulation with a garrote. Twenty-six victims were buried in the crawl space of his home, and three were buried elsewhere on his property; four were discarded in the Des Plaines River. His conviction for thirty-three murders (by one individual) then covered the most homicides in United States legal history. Gacy was sentenced to death on March 13, 1980. He was executed by lethal injection at Stateville Correctional Center on May 10, 1994.

Horrorwish biography:

In the autumn of 2019, the HORRORWISH project was created by Belgian musician/producer Gio Smet.

Known from other bands/projects such as Gitaron, Giotopia and Wolfpact plus collaborations with musicians such as Fabio Lione (Rhapsody), Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear), Herbie Langhans (Avantasia, Firewind) and Apollo Papathanasio (ex-Firewind), Gio Smet wanted to combine his passion for horror tales with dark and intriguing metal music. Thus, giving birth to something new and innovative within the metal scene.

It's hard to compare HORRORWISH. The guitars are dark, fat and "fleshy". Together with a deep and monstrous bass guitar, it results in a massive and horrifying sound. The raw and uncut vocals fits the macabre tunes perfectly.

On April 3th, 2020, the debut album ‘NO PLACE TO HIDE’ was released. The album features thirteen haunting metal songs, each one telling a grisly tale that sends shivers down the spine.

Now, the new album ‘TALES FROM DEATH’ will be released on Halloween (of course), October 31st. The songs on the album are actually based on true horror stories. Think Jeffrey Dahmer, John Wayne Gacy, Elisa Lam and the Cecil Hotel,… The album cover is also something special worth mentioning: Death himself telling the stories from the book of souls on the grave tombs of the victims…
