Waiting for was born in 2007 (in Belgium) with Dan (vocals), Juan (drums), Phil (guitar) and Didj (bass). Combining their influences, they play a kind of néo metal fusion with lots of dynamic, a charged sound and with guttural and melodic vocals. Their debut album came out in 2015 and is as far as I got it the only one.

In 2008, they recorded their first demo called ‘Becoming Cold’ and they played at many festivals and on many shows with bands like Mystica and lots of others. in the “Emergenza contest” at the Botanique in Brussels. Their song Becoming cold was broadcasted on Pure fm radio and they participated at the “Concours Circuit contest”. In 2011 the second demo “Stockholm Syndrome” came out and they played at many festivals such as Oug’rock Fest and played with bands such as Skeptical Minds, Spitdown, Surge Of Fury and others.

The end of the year 2012 was the beginning of the work for their first full length album. They met up Billy Graziadei from BIOHAZARD who appreciated the band’s music and who proposed them to produce and mix their album. After two years of hard work, they finished their goal since the album got mastered by Maor Appelbaum who is known for his mastering work for bands like Faith No More, Sepultura and many other bands from the USA.

Nothing But The Beginning is a good title to start with. The sound is not bad and reminds me a bit of the 90’s grunge-minded sound. I only hear the vocals shortly, screaming something and there is already the end of the song. That’s what we call an intro!

I’m Cursed reminds me of a French band whit almost the same name (singing about pirates, metal genre: Kursed). I hear a bit of the French tongue here.

Let Me Go rocks well with a French tongue (I would work a bit harder on getting a more English minded sound within the vocals). I like the global sound.

Why goes on with the French tongue, rages a bit and has a good global sound. The vocals show their true powers within this song (whispering, screaming, grunting, singing and keeping the right tune)!

Me Myself And I comes close to a French version of Faith No More! I Don’t think it’s the metallized cover version of the song with the same title, btw.

This starts with a rambling bass, hard hitting drums and screams. The song blows of steam from the start and keeps the tempo high whilst the music can best be described as 90’s metal.

Waiting For is the title track and has a lot of potential: mixing clean singing with screams, a good tempo and a good global sound. The little breakdown (with the voices melting together) could have been done a bit better as it’s close to getting out of tune and doesn’t sound melodic enough.

The Last mixes Stone Temple Pilot with Rage Against The Machine & Kursed.

I Feel Like starts like modern rock metal, slows a bit down (gets a horrible passage when the clean singing gets backed up by other voices and comes close to getting out of tune). I feel the potential, but somehow didn’t get there (but close).

No Hell starts in a perfect way: hard and heavy but the slow downs could have been shorter and just keep the TGV on the rails whilst speeding!

We Can Fuck The Rules has great lyrics and is the perfect one to close this album! I’m pretty sure it was a hit on stage!

Well it was fun but also a bit hard to review this one. I heard some potential and also noticed some stuff to work on (the French accent, a more melodic side, …). Nice to look back at it like this!
