EBM/Coldwave sensation ULTRA SUNN is marking the beginning of a new stage in their careers with the announcement that they've paired up with Artoffact Records for a global, multi-album deal! With the news comes a boisterous new track – "Broken Monsters."
ULTRA SUNN is thrilled to call Artoffact their new label home, commenting that the partnership signifies "a new era in which we have the will to pursue our artistic freedom and our positive, powerful and inclusive energy."
When asked about the new single, the band said: "Broken Monsters, the first track from our debut LP, is a powerful hymn telling us that we tend to project to ourselves our own monsters and the demons around us. Since they take up all of the space, we tend to focus on them while the real monsters are those that seem discreet and sleepy. By this, we express that we must remain vigilant, not be blinded by our own fears and preconceptions, the sleep of reason breeds monsters. The quest for a brighter world is far from over.”
The Brussels duo saw success with their single, "Keep Your Eyes Peeled," and has gained a loyal fanbase while performing in cities across Europe, as well as North and South America. The band expresses a desire for modernity through its themes, sounds and collaborations (Kontravoid, Kris Baha, Zanias, Curses, Sarin) while keeping in line with classic EBM and Belgian electronic music.
Since forming, ULTRA SUNN quickly found themselves playing alongside the likes of Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, DAF, A Split Second, and more. Sam's deep and dark voice unfolds over Gaelle’s carefully tailored setup of analog synthesizers and industrial drum machines. Reflected in their work are their passions for the classical arts, fashion shows, and Coldwave, New Beat and modern EBM energies.
